  • The screen informs the user the PIN entered was incorrect and does not reveal how many attempts remain unless product rules define a lockout threshold.
  • The user can re-enter their PIN and resubmit, triggering another POST /payments/pay-vendor call with the same payment details.
  • The payment amount and payee details remain intact from the prior attempt so the user does not need to re-enter them.
  • The user can cancel the payment attempt and return to the make-payment screen without a charge being created.
